Spain: Village 'kill the Jews' will be 'Kastrillo Jews Hill'

Have you heard about the village called 'kill the Jews'?

Well, in northern Spain, near the city of Leon, there is a small and picturesque village which bears this dubious name, relic of the reign of the Inquisition in the country.

Village head, Lorenzo Rordrigz, was interviewed by the local newspaper, 'Diareo de Borges ' and stated that the time has come to change the name, and return to its original name of the village - 'Kastrillo Jews Hill'.

For this purpose, the village chief summoned the representatives of the local family's to a general meeting to be held next week to approve the proposal to replace the name of anti-Semitism.

Maria Raviv spokesman for the Federation of Jewish Communities told Spanish media that the origin of this phrase comes from the medieval period. "When the crypto-Jews were captured by the Inquisition and executed in public, the crowd responded with cries of 'killing Jews'. Unfortunately, this expression is still acceptable in the language of the masses, but most of them do not know the history of this saying, and it is very difficult to prohibit its use," added the spokesperson.
