Orthodox Education Revolution: Haredi students are the largest population group in private schools in the city

Haredi education revolution in New - York: Ministry of Education survey on private schools in the city reveals that about one hundred thousand students enrolled in ultra-Orthodox schools, and the first time the number of students in Haredi schools, pass over Catholic schools.
News channel "New York 1" reports that according to state records, a decade ago 134,948 students attended Catholic schools and 73,254 students attended ultra-Orthodox school.
The last survey found out that 94,589 students studying since the last survey, at the ultra-Orthodox schools and Catholic schools significantly decreased to -87,301 students only.
So it turns out that the number of haredi children in grades A and B is 53 percent of the children of other faiths are educated in elementary schools.
Deputy Director of Yeshiva University, Scott Goldberg explained that the number of children are educated in private schools continue to rise due to natural increase and due to the emphasis on education that are put on in religious schools.
"Haredi public has no other option except haredi schools, while other religions can send their children to public schools," says Goldberg.
