Chabad completed the purchase of the house next door to 770 in Crown Heights, New York by the Center for Educational Affairs, as reported tonight by the Lubavitch.com site.

A year ago it was revealed that a nearby house numbered 760, was offered for sale - by members of family of the Hassid Rabbi Meir Itkin, of blessed memory, and it was advertised in prominent media in Israel and the U.S. and was crowned "a desirable real estate piece."

In Av 5763, Chabad Online site published an official notification of the Center for Education, "Contacts are made between the office and the family regarding the purchase of the house. Talks are taking place with mutual respect between the parties."

After understandings and agreements in recent days, the purchase was completed, thanks to a number of prominent donors who enlisted in the matter. According to plan, the house will become part of Agudath Chassidei Chabad Library, directed by the librarian Rabbi Sholom Ber Levin.

"The new acquisition will allow the library to expand its collection after it has become an important place for researchers and historians around the world," say Chabad.
