Horror in Los Angeles: An armed man barricaded himself in a residential neighborhood close to a yeshiva ketana. The yeshiva students were asked to shut themselves in the building.

A fugitive escaped from the police and barricaded himself in a residential neighborhood in northern Los Angeles in proximity to a Jewish area and the building of Valley Torah Yeshiva, and a number of hareidi schools.

Police called on residents and students to stay indoors.

The man in his 40s climbed on the roof of the North Los Angeles, not far from the yeshiva, where he hid for about fifteen minutes, went down from the building and escaped.

The hunt for the gunman began this morning at 11.30 American time, when police noticed a suspicious vehicle driver on the highway in Monterey Park, Los Angeles.

The driver tried to escape but was caught in a traffic jam and turned to the emergency road turned while speeding as he passes red lights.

At one point the driver stopped the vehicle and fled into the residential neighborhood armed with an automatic pistol.

As of now there are still hundreds of Yeshiva students trapped in the building, and police did not yet arrest the man.
