Rabbi Chaim Korsiya chosen this morning (Sunday), as chief rabbi of France for seven years.

Rabbi Korsiya, 51 served as the chief rabbi of the French Army. He won the second round against Rabbi Oliver Kaufman who served as the temporary chief rabbi.

Rabbi was chosen by 300 members of the electoral body composed of representatives from different communities gathered in the largest auditorium in Paris.

Rabbi Korsiya served as secretary of Rabbi Yosef Chaim Sitruk, the former chief rabbi of France, and has friendly relations with French politicians.

Rabbi served for seven years chief military rabbi, he served as rabbi of Reims, appeared on French media and events familiar to children between - different religious.

Rabbi Korsiya has been fighting many years for the rights of Jewish students who take exams on Saturdays and Jewish holidays.

Rabbi Kaufman who was defeated, is Rabbi of the synagogue Place des Vosges in Paris. Student is considered wise and liberal views and manages more than a year the Jewish Theological Seminary of Paris, in charge of religious services in France.

Edit election was announced less than two months ago, after the resignation of Rabbi Gilles Bernheim, who was accused of plagiarism.
