Synagogue in Givat Ze'ev: police also evacuated
The dissolution of the synagogue Ayelet Shahar in Givat Ze'ev is coming to an end and the police left too

At a High Court hearing this morning, it was decided that from now on police will stop securing the evacuated synagogue complex in Pisgat Zeev.
After the state informed the court that the liquidation procedure of the synagogue Ayelet Shahar in Pisgat Zeev was completed, it claimed there was no longer any need to leave a regular police force there and asked to allow it to no longer maintain police security at the place.
Synagogue members who entered the replacement placement did not object. Even the landowners said that they want to keep the state's request to the discretion of the court, "...provided that if unauthorized presence in the area returns, the permanent police presence will return to the plot".
Yesterday (Monday) the state announced that "in the coming days all the refuse will be removed from the area and the hedge target which was to isolate the compound during the decomposition work, will be removed."
The attorney representing the landowners said that the state has committed to remove the fencing surrounding the plot, while as part of the current request it addressed only the hedge stationed in the area. Therefore, he asked the court to clarify that the state has fulfilled its obligations regarding the liquidation of the hedge in its entirety. The State responded that it will act accordingly. Namely, to dismantle all existing fencing around the plot, as it is not a part of the outer fencing of Givat Zeev settlement.
In view of this, the panel of judges, Supreme Court President Miriam Naor, together with judges Hanan, Meltzer and Uzi Fogelman, decided accept the state's request. This means that the State may now remove the police force.
