Korban Tamim: Shimon Yochai Lasri Laid to Rest after Midnight
Habachur Hachashuv Shimon Yochai Lasri was buried in middle of the night Motzaei Chag in Bnei Brak. He passed away over Shavous after having drowned on Erev Shabbos.

The 20 year old son of the well-known kiruv personality Harav Michael Lasri was buried after Sunday night after Shavous ended in Israel. He was niftar during Yom Tov after drowning on Erev Shabbos.
The Rishon L'tzion, Harav Yitzchak Yosef was the first to be maspid. After him the Rosh Yeshiva of Shimon Yochai Harav Meir Mograbi, Rosh Yeshivas Knesset Yisrael in Ashdod. The Rav spoke with great difficulty. He said," Shimon was a tremendous source of inspiration for the yeshiva. Everyone learned, davened and took on kabalos in his zechus. He was at the gates of death already before Shabbos, there was talk of a levaya before Shavous. But then his pulse returned, all so that the bachurim should be uplifted over the Yom Tov. Bachurim threw away their cell phones, but tragically he died at the height of the Chag. He lived sothat we wouldn't be mourning on the Yom Tov.
The niftar's father , Harav Michael Lasri was to overcome with emotion to eulogize his son. In his place his son Rav Meir spoke. "Tzar Li Aleicha Achi, I am in pain over you my brother, you made my life so pleasant. He spoke about Shimon always learning sefrei musar. He asked for forgiveness on behalf of the family and asked Shimon to be a Melitz Yosher for his parents, specifically that his father should continue to bring others close to Hashem.
"This is a karbon tamim, a pure sacrifice of Hashem."
He was buried in the Bnei Brak cemetery while his family and friends were unable to process the bitter news.
