Reforms for Income Taxes: not in Relgion
MK David Amsalem Chairman of Internal Affairs and Environment Committee comes out against the Reform. "Reforms should be introduced in income taxes- not in religion!"

A fierce attack against the Reform- chairman of Internal Affairs Dovid Amsalem attacked the provocation that the Reform have planned for today. He said that as far as he is concerned, "reforms should be made in income taxes- not in religion."
During a tour of the Yad Sarah organization in Jerusalem Amsalem said,"Until today
everyone who wanted to pray at the Kotel came and prayed, including the Reform. There is a men's section and a women's sections and no one asks you if you are Reform, Jew or gentile. Whoever wants to come to the Kotel knows that there are rules to follow."
Furthermore he said, "In my understanding of the issue with the Reform , as far as I'm concerned reforms are a good thing when it comes to taxes, or social security but not in religion. Dat Moshe was given to us at Sinai and is not related to any concept of reform. Reforms are done in factories or income taxes.
"I follow a certain rule in life. It's called," be respectful and follow the rules and the other side with whom you are arguing will see that you are right and it will all straighten out. The Kotel is not the place for the struggle of the Reform for recognition. Therefore every Reform Jew who wants to visit the Kosel should know that there is a men's section and a women's section just as there always has been. "
Amsalem ended with a question: "I am asking a simple question. If a new stream of Judaism forms tomorrow will we give them another quarter of the Kotel? Tomorrow the Karaites will come- will we give them yet another quarter of the kotel? There is not end to the matter- it's a kind of joke. Therefor I'm saying: come lets remove the debate, there isn't really a debate. The Reform Jews in America will align themselves with the line (with the norm) and if not- they won't. There is no debate here. These are just the rules."
