Israel will be the first country outside the U.S. to receive the F-35 Lightning II fighter jet, called by Israel the Adir.
The first planes are expected to reach Israel by the beginning of 2017.
Top Israeli and America officials attended the ceremony in Fort Worth, Dallas today in which Israel officially received its first F-35 Lightning jet.
Security Minister Avigdor Lieberman said toda ,"The State of Israel is proud to be the first in our area to receive the jet. The F-25 jet is the world's most advanced fighter jet."
