Sunday Vacation once in two Months
The Ministerial Committee on Legislation has approved a bill making Sunday an official day off once every two months.

Kulanu MK Eli Cohen's bill to create six long weekends a year is expected to go into effect in 2017. The President of the Manufacturers Association, Shraga Brosh opposes the bill which he claims will cost the market 8 billion shekel a year.
MK Eli Cohen said," switching over to a long weekend will dramatically change the nature of work and holds many benefits including, a reduction of worker burn out, an increase in the balance of work life and family life, an increase in the individual's quality of life, and synchronization of the student's vacation days with the parent's working days. Additionally the extra day off will be good for certain economic branches such as trade and tourism.
Personally "losing" my Sunday's off was one of my more challenging adjustments to life in Israel. However over the years I have come to be proud of the fact that our Israeli work week reflects the Six Days of Creation. I have also learned to feel a deep contentment in the knowledge that no one I know in Israel end's up "wasting" and entire day each week with window shopping or by finding some other way to "kill time".
On the other hand if granting those extra Sunday's off will help ease the transition for some would be olim than perhaps it isn't a bad idea.…
