Minister of construction Yoav Galant: 5000 Apartments a Year for Charedim

Over the course of the past few days the office of Yoavh gallant, Minister of Construction has drafted a proposal calling for a yearly construction of thousands of housing units for the charedi population.
The introduction to the bill states," due to the estimated need for some 200,000 housing units for the charedi sector by the year 2035, it is recommended to set a first stage goal to market 5,000 apartments a year for the charedim from 2016 to 2018, and after that 6,500 apartments a year."
The Explanation contained additional details," Over the course of the next 20 years, the charedi sector will need close to 200,000 housing units. Due to the lack of options the market will be looking for solutions which will include the purchasing of apartments within mixed communities and the eventual pushing out of the veteran population. This will cause social tensions which should be prevented. "
