An alert security noticed the man standing behind the stop on Rechov Yaffo with a bag in his hand. The guard examined the bag, found a bomb and called the police.
Sapper were called to the scene, Rechov Yaffo and Kind George were closed off ant the terrorist arrested and taken for questioning.
A number of pipe bombs were found in the possession of the Palestinian, who is a resident of a village in the Chevron area.
Mayor Nir Barkat praised the work of the security guard and encouraged the public to return to their routines.
