Rabbi Haskel Lookstein will not be Speaking at the GOP convention
Ivanka Trump asked Rabbi Lookstein to make some public remarks at the GOP convention. Though he originally agreed he has backed out after angry backlash.

Rabbi Yechezkel Lookstein, the Rabbi that converted Ivanka Trump had originally agreed to make some remarks at the GOP after being invited by Ivanka to do so.
His name prominently appeared on the list of speakers for the GOP convention, which sparked a lot of controversy in Jewish circles. Many of his former students at Ramaz, the private school Rabbi Lookstein once headed have sparked a petition drive against the public appearance of Rabbi Lookstein who they consider to be a "dangerous man".
In response Rabbi Lookstein wrote a letter to the "Ramaz family," in which he wrote ,"The whole matter turned from rabbinic to political, something which was never intended. Like my father before me, I have never been involved in politics. Politics divides people. My life has been devoted to uniting a community."
