Terror in Jerusalem: Stabbing attack in the Old City

MDA emergency response teams arrived at the scene and provided first aid to the wounded before evacuating them to local hospitals. The female officer was transported to Shaarei Tzedek Hospital, while the male officer is in Hadassah Ein Karem.

Two Israelis were injured Monday morning in a terror attack in the Old City of Jerusalem. Initial reports indicate the two stabbed near Herod's Gate, and that the terrorist has was neutralized. Both injured identified as police officers. One, a female officer in her early 20s, is in critical condition. The second officer, a man in his mid-40s, is in moderate condition. The Arab attacker was shot during the attack and is in critical condition.

The first information obtained by B'hadrei Haredim shows that a young Palestinian attacked two police officers between the Damascus Gate and Herod's Gate. He and stabbed a 50-year old male police officer and a female law-enforcement officer, 30. The security forces neutralized the perpetrator.




Two wounded received treatment at the scene, the policewoman was taken in critical condition to Shaarei Tzedek Hospital in the city, and the officer was taken in moderate to Hadassah Hospital.

Meanwhile, yesterday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's assessment of the security situation ahead of the High Holidays. He directed to strengthen the police forces, primarily in the Old City and the Har Habayit, and to act decisively against any violations.
