Are Gaza terrorist testing the IDF’s alertness along the border?
Earlier today, a female terrorist was apprehended as she approached the Israel Gaza border. According to security sources, early in the afternoon an IDF outpost spotted a suspicious female approaching the Erez crossing Between Israel and the Gaza strip. A group of soldiers were immediately dispatched to intercept her and prevent a possible terror attack. There was initial deliberation amongst the commanding officers if to activate the ‘’Fire upon sight’’ system, but she was stopped a different way says the report.
The soldiers cautiously approached her and applied the “Arresting a suspect” procedure, which is used when arresting highly suspicious individuals. During the arrest soldiers found a suspicious looking unidentified substance in the woman’s shoes. Suspecting it to be explosives, a military sapper was called down to the scene, confirming that it was in fact explosives. The female suspect was taken in for questioning.
‘’Fire upon sight’’ is an advanced fighting system developed by ‘Refeal advanced defense systems’, meant to engage terrorist without putting soldiers in the line of fire. The system is comprised of a remote-control machine gun mounted atop a lookout tower with an advance surveillance system that covers the entire area that it operates sin. The system is currently deployed along the Israeli -Gaza border and is remotely operated by IDF soldier who engage terrorists that attempt to approach the border.
