Prices On The Way Down? Apartments Available For Just 440 Thousand NIS

As part of the large lottery, recently announced by finance minister Moshe Kachlon, which will soon be held, is the ‘Ramat Shaked’ project for Chareidim, located in the southern city of Ofakim.

The ‘Ramat Shaked’ project is just a short walk from the rest of Chareidi community in the city. The project will include 154 housing units comprised of 7 buildings, of which 120 of the apartments will be reserved for those eligible for the ‘Mechir Lamishtken’ program.

According to the deputy mayor of Ofakim Avraham Deutch, eligible parties for ‘Mechir Lamishtaken’ will be able to purchase an apartment for a mere 440 thousand NIS.
The project includes 3 room apt. with a porch, starting from 485 thousand NIS, and 4.5 rooms with a porch, starting from 717 thousand NIS.
The project also includes more upgraded apartment such as, 3.5 and 4.5 room apt. with a garden, starting at 765 thousand NIS, and even a 5-room apt. with a porch for 997 thousand NIS.

“Bechadrei Chareidim” discovered that in reality the prices are even lower then what they are officially going for.
If an eligible couple wins a slot in the lottery and proceeds with their purchase of an apartment, the government will subsidies 60 thousand NIS of the original price as a gift to the couple.
As of now, the project in Ofakim was approved by the ‘local committee’ and has received all the necessary building permits. The program is just waiting for a final overall approval from the housing ministry, in order to begin construction.

Participants can sign up for the Ofakim project with two different raffles, since a separate raffle will be held for each of the two projects in the Ofakim-‘Micheer Lamishtaken’ program.
Deputy mayor Deutch suggests that couples interested in the project should sign up with both lotteries, thereby increasing their chance to win the rights for an apt.
