Four Days After The Massacre: Chalamish Residents Demanding Security

Four days after the vicious Friday night slaughter of three Jews Hy”d, in the town of Neve Tzuf-Chalamish, located just 15 minutes from Modiin Illit, and the small town of 300 hundred families is demanding that their town receive proper security measures.
Since the devastating attack, there has been much talk about what could and should have been done to prevent the attack on the town; that has already known terror incidents in the past.

Many of the local residents are claiming that heir town does not have proper security measures, not to mention the absence of a CC security camera system.
“Bechadrei Chareidim” arrived at the local town shul, ‘Ohel Chana’, between mincha and Mariv, to speak with the residents, and hear firsthand what the town is going through.

Mincha was held at the shul followed by a Daf Hayomi shiur and then Mariv.
The serenity that embodies this quiet town does not betray the slightest hint of the cruelty that took place here just 4 day ago.

Speaking to “Bechadrei Chareidim”, Dr. Chaim Appelbaum one of the towns veterans, shares the difficult feelings following the attack.

“We are still not digesting it, trying to overcome and not live in fear. We have already lived through more difficult periods in the past. It hurts that such good people were killed by a blood thirsty terrorist”.

Chaim also share that near the town a ‘Protest tent’ has been erected to bring awareness to the towns dire security situation. As well, a committee has been formed to advance and see to-it, that new security measures are put in place to enhance the already panicky town’s security.

Chaim also shared the great miracle that took place on Shabbos, “Many residents weren’t home this Shabbos, and this specific house was in between the meal and the shalom Zachor and open for all- and happened what happened” he painfully says.

He also spoke about Yossi Solomon Hy”d, who was full of simcha. “Yossi was the primary mesamayach at all the simchas, if he would come to a Simcha- the Simcha was complete. He was in charge of the Shabbos morning 7:00 AM minyan, and would invest a lot of effort into it, and everything with modesty without publicity and noise”.
