A recent spike in incidents near Kever Rachel in which Palestinian terrorists throw Molotov cocktail and fire bombs at the Kever Rachel compound, has brought the ‘Mishmar Hagvul’ border police, to increase surveillance around the area. In addition, the border police have been laying ambushes to detain those responsible, in a hope to curtail the ongoing terror near Kever Rachel.
Last Tuesday, ‘Magav’ forces noticed 2 Palestinian Arabs making their way to the security fence near the Kever Rachel compound on the Palestinian side. The two seemed to be innocently strolling down the street, when they suddenly lit an explosive device and lobbed it at the compound.
B’’H the explosives did not land in the compound and instead exploded on the Palestinian side of the fence. ‘Magav’ forces lying in waiting immediately gave chase to the two who attempted to flee the scene.
One of the suspects, a 17-year old Palestinian from the town of Beit Sachur, was apprehended by the forces.
The young terrorist was taken in for questioning, and police have already filed charges against him at the ‘Ofer’ military court. An indictment is expected to be filed against him in the coming days.
