Northern border continues to worry: fierce fighting taking place between rebels and Assad forces in Syria, near the border, continue to flow into Israel.

Three mortar shells fell today (Thursday), into the Golan Heights in Israel, after they were fired from Syria. At least one of them exploded. There were no casualties.

One of the mortar shells, 82 mm in diameter, fell into the heart of the Aloni - Bashan settlement and didn’t explode. A different bomb fell near the security fence but did not cause damage.

In recent days there have been several stray bullets that were fired at Israel, which hit an IDF outpost.

On Tuesday a military vehicle, where reconnaissance Battalion Commander of the Golani Brigade was driving was hit. In all cases there were no injuries.

Last Saturday three tanks belonging to the army of Syrian President Bashar Assad, entered a Golan demilitarized area and took part in fighting against rebel forces.

Following leakage struggles continued into the demilitarized zone and into Israel, Israel filed a complaint to the headquarters of UN forces.
