First time: Minister Shai Piron visits an Orthodox school

Education Minister Rabbi Shai Piron arrived today (Thursday), for his first visit at the Haredi education system, and was warmly welcomed.
Minister Piron of Yesh Atid began his visit at the Beis Yaakov School for teachers in Jerusalem, sponsored by the Gur Hasidim.
Education Minister met with school staff and students, accompanied by the mayor of Jerusalem - Nir Barkat.
The Minister said that, "the Torah is an important value and will continue to be an important value not only in the orthodox sector but also in general.
"We must aspire," he said, "that every educational factor will see the Torah as a moral, education and social inspiration, and educate to the light of these values."
Concerning the changes he is planning to conduct, the minister said that if he conducts changes in the future, they will be made with a common discourse with representatives of the Haredi sector.
"Despite the controversies, we will make every effort to reach an agreement," he said.
