A serious incident took place today (Thursday) at Giti Avissar junction- near Ariel at 18:25: Arab terrorists threw stones at the bus and private car traveling on the road, as a result, the vehicle veered off course and crashed into a truck parked on the side, and four passengers were injured.
Bus - Line 186 of the Afikim company - along with the vehicle, were on their way on Highway 5 near Ariel, and sustained a barrage of stones, followed by slight injury of the bus driver, baby Adele Bitton who was in the private car suffered a fatal blow, the mother Edva and two more girls aged 4 and 6 who were also in the car – were moderately injured.
MDA teams Yarkon District and rescue organizations were called to the scene. Crews reached the scene and gave medical treatment to victims. The girls were taken using a mobile intensive care unit to Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva.
For long hours the doctors are struggling to save little Adele's life.
IDF forces arrived and began searching and checking the event.
SJ spokesman said: "Further to reports of the accident - we can tell that there was stone throwing from a nearby hill at vehicles traveling on Route 5. Several vehicles were damaged. Shai District Police conducted additional security forces to arrest stone-throwers.
Shomron Regional Council head Gershon Mesika, responded to the attack tonight, "the distorted policy which is determined not to see throwing stones as terrorism but disturbances is complete lawlessness. In the last two months throwing stones has increased with no response due to restrictions on the IDF politicians. It's time to internalize: stones can kill. We must treat throwing stones as terrorism alone."
