Baruch Dayan Haemes: In Antwerp in Belgium, Rabbi David Spitzer z"l passed away on Erev Shabbos at the age of 84.

The deceased established the Tomchei Shabbos organization, which distributes shabbos necessities to hundreds of families in Antwerp every Friday – including Yomim Tovim.

All his life he gave of his wealth to the public, and did so secretly.

He left after him his son, Rabbi Mordechei Spitzer, who continues in his footsteps.

The funeral left today (Sunday) from the community building in Antwerp towards the cemetery in Holland-where he was laid to rest. Local residents and members of the community cried for the loss.

The Mara D'Atra, Hagaon Rabbi Aharon Schiff, eulogized the deceased and stressed the importance of those who pass away on Erev Shabbos.
