Victory for the Haredi community in London: After a full week of delay of the body of tzedaka collector activist Rabbi Motel Weiss z"l, the court ruled today that the body will not undergo an autopsy and pathologists will make do with MRI images.

Two of the justices of the Supreme Court in London ruled that an autopsy is forbidden under any circumstances. Regarding the checking of images, the judges ruled that it will not be done by the local pathology, but by a senior doctor, and if he will be satisfied with the end result – the pathologist will be obliged to give a death certificate. If the doctor is not satisfied by the examination – it will return to the court hearing.

A Haredi activist in London tells Behadrey Haredim: "This is a knockout victory for the Haredi public over the primary pathologist who insisted on an autopsy, the fact that the court out ruled her decision on an autopsy in any situation is a huge accomplishment."

London is now awaiting the outcome of the MRI, and issuing of the death certificate by the pathologist prior to a short funeral in London and flying the body to Israel for burial.
