The suggested law will enable MDA to receive the callers exact location directly from the cell phone companies. An improvement that is likely to save many lives.
People who call for emergency assistance are under stress and often have great difficulty giving over their location and directing the rescue services to them.
The time wasted clarifying the exact address or area pften makes the difference between life and death. In order to find a solution to this problem MK's Dovid Biton of Likud and Michal Biron of The Zionist Camp have worked to make a change to the communication law with the goal of compelling the cell phone companies to tell MDA each callers exact location while still protecting their privacy.
