Tsav’ah Of R’ Moishe Shmuel Shapira Zt’’l: “Forbidden To Publish Shiurim Without Permission”
A notice was published this morning in the name of the family of the great bal machshava hagaon hamufla R’ Moishe Shapira zt’’l, not to publish the gaon’s chidushey torah without permission

“According to the tsav’ah”- reads the notice printed in the Israeli Yated Ne’eman paper this morning, “No one has permission; bek’peyda gemura, to publish in any form the Gaon’s chidushey torah, whether in Israel or Abroad, without the family’s explicit permission.
“Bechadrei Charedim” inquired into the reason of the ban, and was told that it was out of concern that the chidushim be printed accurately. Throughout his entire life, R’ Moishe Shapira z’’l was very exact with his words and was very careful that others who quote him should do so accurately.
It is well known that the Gaon would not allow open-entry to all of his shiurim. He would give many different shiurim, each unique in style and topic and they were geared for a specific crowd. Some for Baley Teshuvah, some for great talmidey chachomim and some for baley machshava vehavana in the world of Kabala.
Even the chidushim that were printed in his lifetime were edited by R’ moishe himself, he would go over the entire text making sure that what was being printed was accurate.
Interesting to note, the Mishpacha newspaper in Israel once prepared a lengthy article before a yom tov, which quoted R’ Moishe a couple of times throughout the article. R’ Moishe turned to the paper and requested that his words no be printed.
Throughout his life, R’ Moishe gave thousands of shiurim, sichos and hespeidim that were said with extreme depth and clarity. His talmidim would say about him that he has a “rosh plada” -in explaining his powerful mind.
He inspired thousands of people that drank in his every word with great thirst.
Aside for his greatness in Torah, he was also known for his tremendous concern and care for others.
May he be a maylets yosher for klal yisroel.
