Trump Era: Hundreds Of New Housing Units Approved For Chareidim In Yerushalayim
A new American President has been sworn in, and hundreds of new housing units have already been approved in Yerushalayim-over the green line- many of them in Ramot and Ramat Shlomo

Just one day after president Barak Obama left the white house: The ‘local building and planning committee’ of Yerushalayim has approved hundreds of new housing units this morning (Sunday), to be built throughout the city. The new approved units are located over the green line, and were not approved in the past per order of PM Netanyahu, due to their sensitive location.
Amongst the newly approved units, a couple of hundred are in the Chareiedi neighborhoods of Ramot and Ramat Shlomo.
One Hundred and seventy of the newly approved units will be built on Rechov Toledano in Ramat Shlomo, and 324 units will be built in the adjacent Neighborhood of Ramot; which will also include a new shul and kindergarten.
Housing units were not only approved in the Jewish neighborhoods, but also in the Arab neighborhoods of the city as well.
Full list of approved units: 324 in Ramot, 174 in Ramat Shlomo, 68 in Pisgat Ze’ev, 49 in Be’et Chanina, 14 in Wadi Joz, 24 in Um-lison and Um- Tabu, 7 in Jabel-Mukaber, 4 in Bit Tsafafa, 3 in Tzur-Bar, and 4, in Ba-Tur.
Mayor of Yerushalayim Nir Barkat said this morning, “We past eight tough years of Obama who pressured to freeze construction. Although the Yerushalayim municipality did not freeze construction, many times government approval for new housing projects was not forthcoming due to American pressure. I hope that is over, and from now on we will continue building and developing Yerushalaim for all its residents, Jews and Arabs. To strengthen the sovereignty over a united Yerushalaim as Israel’s capital, and to provide a solution to young couples, that is the right thing.”
