Hagr"ch and Hgr"n clarify: "We did not support Hagr"d Shmidel"

Hagr"ch Kanievsky and Hgr"n Karelitz published yesterday a letter in which they deny that they wrote a letter of support of Hagr"d Shmidel, who was arrested for rioting in the Karso area, in Be'er Sheva.
Last weekend, the Atra Kadisha Association, published a letter of support of Hagr"d Shmidel.
In a letter published throughout the haredi streets, it said: "trembling gripped us when hearing a bad rumor that was witnessed by trustees that daredevils of the camp led to his arrest and demeaning respect of the teachings of our friend Rabbi David Shmidel Shlit"a. We vigorously protest the humiliation and trampling respect for our friends," the words.
But in a conversation between a B'Chadrei Charedim reporter and household members of Hagr'ch Kanievsky and Hgr"n Karelitz they said: "It's fake."
Yesterday they reinforced: "I did not sign it," wrote Hagr"ch, in a letter published. Also Hgr"n Karelitz wrote a short similar text and denied the ad in question attributed to him.
B'Chadrei Charedim learned that throughout the past day sources associated with the Atra Kadisha, sent threats to family members of Hgr"n Karelitz and warned that if they publish a denial letter of support – they will publish proof that indeed Hgr"n signed the ad. "We'll post a video in which he signs the letter," they said emphatically.
The denial was issued only after it became clear that the organization factors of Atra Kadisha tried to get the Gab"d to sign a letter saying that if Hagr"ch and Hgr"n signed, and then he should sign as well to help the organization.
As mentioned, a long debate is being held on the excavations concerning the site in Beer Sheva where a government complex is being constructed.
