Levine's attorneys quit • Judge rejected postponing the court case

Battle of the Yated Ne'eman: In a hearing held this morning at the District Court in Tel Aviv before Judge Ruth Ronen, it was found that Attorney Yehoshua Choresh and Boaz Wilensky – attorneys of the old managers banished from the paper, led by Yaakov Levine - announced their resignations from representation in the case, and in their place were appointed by attorney Shefat who claims he represents the Association Yatedot T.s.m.o. and attorney Gorgy claiming to represent the company Yatedot T.s.m.o. Publishing Limited.

During the discussion, the new lawyers announced that the case was transferred to them only yesterday and that they seek delay of about 90 days to study the legal documents. The judge refused the request and gave a break of ten days to present authorization and only about 30 days for further discussion on the matter.

According to an earlier interim decision of the court, the newspaper was left in the hands of the new management.

Another topic of discussion brought before the court is the authorization in the hands of the attorneys of the old management. Attorneys of the new management claim that who is actually standing in front of the claim is Yaakov Levine, former CEO of the newspaper. Lawyers of the new management argued against him that he does not have authorization to claim control of the paper, as the company who ran it was owned by Yatedot T.s.m.o. and he is not qualified to sue on its behalf, and that he worked for the newspaper as an employee of the company. Therefore any claim of ownership of the paper should be made by the old owners of the paper, namely the members of the organization.

Members who are supporting the old management are Rabbi Zvi Friedman and Baruch Shmuel Deutsch, who will have to decide within a few days whether they give authorization for a renewed court action against Gedolei Yisrael.

The judge decided that the old management must come up with a valid authorization 10 days from now, and on 10 January another hearing will be set where both sides will bring their claims. The discussion will also be on the issue of ownership of the organization and who is authorized to claim in its name.

The saga in Yated Ne'eman began six months ago, when the business man Shimon Glick appeared at the offices of the newspaper and informed Editor Nati Grossman that according to the documents in his possession – he is the new director of the newspaper, and that he was fired from that moment onwards, by orders of Gedolei Yisrael. Grossman was later also joined by Yaakov Levine, who served until then as CEO of the newspaper.

The court rejected a request for a restraining order filed by two, and was given an order by Judge Einat Ron, that the status quo will continue and that Shimon Glick holds documents confirming his ownership of the newspaper.

Editor and CEO dismissals did not give up and started a new journal – 'Hapeles', as well as the 'Netzach' party.

Despite the judge's words which were very sharp and clear and it was clear where her mind tends, the two do not give up and continue the legal struggle.
