Why did Hamodia and Hamevaser hide the news?

Protest against Barkat who trained Shabbos desecration at the train station - posted prominently in the Yated, but was minimized in Hamodia and Hamevaser '• Council member Moshe Gora attacks

Why did Hamodia and Hamevaser hide the news?

Intrigues within the local Yahadut Hatorah party in Jerusalem?

B'Chadrei Charedim received a letter sent by Moses Gora, a city council member from the Degel HaTorah faction, to the other members of the party, in which he criticizes the Hamodia and Hamevaser that belatedly issued the protest against his support of the mayor, Nir Barkat, on the opening of the railway station area which is also planned on Shabbos.

Last Thursday, local party members expressed their protest in a letter against the mayor's remarks. They were angered by Barkat who declared to the media that since the train station is privately owned, there is no harm to the status quo in that it opens on Shabbos.

The protest of the ultra-Orthodox Council members was sent to Haredi dailies Hamodia, Hamevaser and Yated Ne'eman.

A day later, on Friday, the Yated Ne'eman newspaper published the protest on the front page headline. However, the Hamevaser newspaper published the news this morning (Monday) on one of the internal pages and also in the Hamodia the protest was posted just today on the second page in the newspaper.

Council member Gora argues in his letter that the news was not published in two newspapers in the "appropriate force". He said, "I do not know if this was done intentionally or accidentally by the writer, and what is behind it, and it does not matter at all for our purposes. In fact, it weakens the strength of our opposition, when the impression is as if G-d forbid there is no unanimity in the power struggle that must be waged at desecration sanctity of the Shabbos and the holiness of Jerusalem."

Gora also noted that this is not the first case, "Unfortunately, this joins other recent cases, such as the secular yeshiva in Kiryat Yovel, etc., which weakens our strength in the holy systems which we manage for the sanctity of Jerusalem."

Deep investigation revealed that the letter sent by Council member Moshe Gora is just the tip of the iceberg in plots that exist within the party. In this particular case, it was argued by sources, that if the purpose of Gora or the other source was the publication of a protest, it has already been published. Therefore, we can conclude that his goal is one, "to prove that there are people within the party who are at a crossroads when on one hand they are members of the faction, on the other hand they are friends of Barkat, and recently their interest is to prevent publications against the mayor."

The source also notes: "In the past, the three dailies would publish such protest - a day after receiving it, and as a main headline. The fact that two dailies advertised it four days after it was sent, and also gave it secondary position - proves their goal."

A source at Hamevaser, said that the protest had not reached them on Thursday, and they received it yesterday.
