Latest alignment: Obama bluntly interferes

Coincidental timing? A week before the Israeli elections U.S. President Barack Obama is quoted speaking out against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

"Netanyahu is leading Israel closer and closer to complete isolation," according to the publication. "Israel does not know what its interests are."

Bloomberg agency posted these words through the commentator Jeffrey Goldberg, known to be close to the White House. Advertising time, less than a week before elections in Israel, has raised the thought whether it was leaked intentionally by the administration in Washington to influence state elections in Israel. While President Obama was dealing for a second term there were those who argued against Netanyahu that he is trying to intervene and support Mitt Romney, Obama's rival. Now, they say, the President is avenging on the same intervention.

The words were exploited in Israel by Netanyahu's competitors. Hatnua Party Chairman Tzipi Livni said: "You can like or dislike the President of the United States, but we're talking about our greatest friend and security of Israel, so these things should wake up every Israeli citizen."

Diplomatic sources close to the prime minister also responded to the words: "This is a blatant intervention of the U.S. President in the elections in Israel." They also accused the Israeli left as causing the publishing of the words: "fingerprints of the left wing in Israel are everywhere in this story," they said.

Livni: I can bring Israel out of isolation
Chairman of Hatnua, Tzipi Livni continued to ride on this report and published on her Facebook page a comment that says that only she can save Israel from isolation, "as Obama said today in closed conversations that Netanyahu is leading Israel to serious isolation and he does not understand the interests of the state of Israel we need someone here who can remove this isolation and wants to lead Israel out of this isolation.
Either I will be there to promote what I believe in, or I will be outside. This will be my test. If in the next term of office after the elections there will not be the real thing here, I'll fight for it, that's my job!"
