Orthodox community in Manchester, England firestorm: Police have arrested a haredi couple and removed the eight children from their custody, the local media reported.
The story began when a neighbor noticed the 3 year old boy wandering the frozen street, wearing only a thin shirt.
He called the police who wanted to return the child to the parents, but police discovered that they are not at home, and an 11 year old girl is entrusted to taking care of her seven brothers when the little one is only a few months old .
So too, the cops were shocked to find the house dirty and unkempt without hygiene conditions.
The child said that the family will immigrate to the United States on Monday and that her parents will soon return.
An hour later, when the parents came home, they were handcuffed and taken into custody. Welfare staff called to the scene removed the children from their parents.
The parents were brought before a judge who was about to release them on bail , but the prosecutor appealed the decision , arguing that parents who are also Israeli citizens, were to emigrate to New York and they may escape , and bail was revoked.
Community activists are working to move over their eight children to an Orthodox foster family. Activists also recruited a lawyer for the parents.
