African exile: Hgr"e Berland in Johannesburg

Cannot find peace: Rabbi Eliezer Berland, leader of Shuvu Banim Congregation - Breslov, left today (Wednesday) the land of Zimbabwe, where he spent the last few months since leaving Morocco and came to Johannesburg.

As revealed this week in behadrey Haredim, Rabbi Berland probably will spend Pesach in Johannesburg, South Africa , but might, after all followers will leave the boundaries of the state - will return back to the apartment of his associate Yaron Yemin in Zimbabwe.

Associates of the rabbi told the Behadrey Haredim: "Rabbi left Zimbabwe voluntarily with his associate Yaron Yemin and businessman and treasurer Avraham Azoulay, no one knows where the rabbi went, but in a few days things will become clearer."

Recall the beginning of the week there was an incident with the authorities in Zimbabwe, when some followers of Rabbi passed local law and slaughtered a lamb. Consequently, Rabbi Berland was called for interrogation, and after checking his visa the Rabbi was released and called several times for questioning.

Followers of the rabbi, who left this morning from Zimbabwe in four buses towards Johannesburg, a 13 hour travel, wait for his decision and accordingly will receive a decision as to where to hold the Seder.

At the same time, Israel's remaining Hasidim will hold this evening a prayer rally at the Western Wall, for the success of Rabbi Eliezer Ben Etya.
