Miracle on Yom Tov: big explosion in midst of prayer
During Yom Tov barrages of rockets were fired at the Negev • One rocket landed near a synagogue in Sderot, which was filled with worshipers

'Red color' in the midst of the holiday: today (last day of Pesach), at least six rockets were fired towards Israel in two volleys of rockets.
One of the rockets landed in Sderot on a road next to a synagogue, in the midst of the prayer service.
Two rockets hit an open area in the western Negev. Another rocket was intercepted by "Iron Dome" system. Two rockets fell inside the Gaza Strip.
"We were in the middle of the prayer," says Yosef, a member of the haredi community in Sderot, "in the midst of prayer we heard the Red alarm sounded, even before we decide whether or not to flee to the shelter, we heard a big explosion near the synagogue. There is no Iron Dome in Sderot so that the danger of missiles here is particularly serious."
The escalation began when at about 6:30am an RPG rocket was launched at an IDF force which was patrolling the fence in the southern Gaza Strip. The force returned fire with mortars.
Following the IDF fire, Palestinian terrorists launched, starting at 8:30am, two volleys of rockets into northwestern Negev.
In response, the Air Force carried out two attacks in southern Gaza Strip when the focus is Khan Yunis. "The IDF using aircraft of the Air Force attacked shortly before the holiday two terrorist targets in southern Gaza and another terrorist target center," army spokesman announced, "Accurate hits at targets were identified. All our planes returned safely to their bases."
"The IDF will not tolerate any attempt to harm Israeli citizens and IDF soldiers and will continue to act decisively and strongly against anyone who activates terror against the State of Israel. Hamas is a terrorist organization and bears the responsibility."
Despite the fire, Sderot municipality announced it will not cancel the Mimuna celebrations planned for tonight and tomorrow.
