Health Minister Yaakov Litzman said yesterday (Tuesday) that MK Yair Lapid (head of Yesh Atid) himself was behind the explosion of the agreement between the mayor Benhamou Nissan and Gur Chasidim in Arad.

He said this in response to remarks made by MK Meir Cohen from ‘Yesh Atid’ on a video interview with “Bechadrei chareidim", saying,”’Yesh atid’ has nothing to do with the desecration of the shul and the fight against Gur chasidim in Arad”.

In an interview given to ‘Kol Barama’ radio, MK Litzmann tried proving the connection of ‘Yesh Atid’, and Yair Lapid to the struggle in Arad. "When I tried to reach an agreement with the mayor a few months ago, we held very intense negotiation. It was quite confidential, and we made a lot of progress drafting several pages of the agreement. At 2 am the mayor blasted the agreement over an insignificant detail.
Two days later, Yair Lapid approached one of my assistants and said, “tell your boss, he does not talk to me - I blew up the agreement”.

“So here is the connection”. Says MK Litsman.

The health minister made it clear that "I'm not talking about a political battle against ‘Yash Atid’. Rather, because of the mayor's incitement which originates and is backed by ‘Yesh Atid’, a group of people came in to the shul in the middle of davening, men and women blasting radio”.

Litsman warns ‘’if we don’t put an end to this, tomorrow it will happen all over the country, something like this cannot be tolerated”.

“When the mayor was elected, I met with him’’ says Litsman. I told him 'Listen carefully, if you make a coalition I am ready to join, if not lets id-least co-operate. Help us out with kindergartens and other things. The Mayor responded saying ‘Promise me that you won’t continue moving here and I will give it to you’, I do not want to see more Haredim in Arad’.

I told him, 'this is anti-Semitism, if you were to say this about the Arabs - the whole country would be in an uproar”.

MK Litsman finishes off by adding “At the moment it’s happening in Arad.
However, If the mayor says he does not want to see chareidim in his town, and he is from ‘Yesh Atid’- then it’s their policy. It’s not just that someone told him this”.
